What: Have you ever considered what steps are involved in forensic analysis? How do scientists come to conclusions with given evidence? What do chemists do if they disagree with a given analysis? Come out and hear a talk hosted by Christopher Halkides as he discusses different forensic techniques and the benefits and pitfalls that they offer to the field of forensic chemistry as a whole.

Christopher John Halkides is a biochemist with interests in medicinal, organic, and forensic chemistry. His scientific mentors were Perry Frey, Alfred Redfield, and Frederick Dahlquist. His current research is in the synthesis of new antimicrobial compounds directed against key biosynthetic enzymes.
