A goal of the Eastern North Carolina Section of the American Chemical Society is to foster opportunities for younger chemists to engage the scientific community. To support this goal, the ENC-ACS is offering a $200 travel grant to undergraduate and graduate students to attend a conference to highlight student achievement and research. Fill out the application form, linked below, to be completed and signed by the student requesting up to $200 in funds for travel (mileage if traveling by vehicle, airfare, train fare, etc.) and hotel costs. To be eligible for the travel grant, the student must be presenting at the conference. A limit of two students per poster and one student per talk will be enforced. This grant will support only two students per supervisor/research advisor per calendar year and will support only one grant per student per calendar year. Eligible presentations should focus on chemistry or a closely-related field to chemistry. The Board of Directors for the ENC-ACS will determine eligibility of the topic. Other factors considered in providing funding include availability of funds, number of applications, or other factors deemed necessary by the Board of Directors. The research advisor and school must be within the boundaries of the Eastern NC Section as set forth by the ACS. Students that accept a travel grant may be asked to present their work at a local ACS meeting by either a short talk or participating in a poster session.
